Job Description
Manpower is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our client’s business located in Oxnard, CA.

Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating, and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance and liaising with inventory teams and management.

The Buyer should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget.

What is the Job?

  • Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
  • Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
  • Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
  • Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
  • Assess vendor/supplier capabilities based on factory audits and performance and make decisions to drive improvement.
  • Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required
  • Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
  • Assist in SAP clean up and data entry for business units to ensure correct supply chain and procurement process.
  • Initiate projects to resource parts and identify/recommend alternate designs and/or manufacturing methods for current parts and new design prototype requests.
Job Requirements
Proven experience in a Buyer role and/or 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint). Advanced knowledge of Excel a plus
Proficient in appropriate software. (ERP/MRP experience required)
SAP experience preferred
Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or Engineering
3+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
